All home purchasers should get a home inspection. Why?:
New homes generally have a 1 year warranty. After that any problem becomes the responsibility of the home owner. Sometimes the home owner isn't even aware of the existence of a problem; at other times, the problems are known but the homeowner has little or no incentive to fix them for the
purchaser.
Homeowners often modify systems, structures and components incorrectly and not per building codes. The purchaser can inherit these problems unless they are exposed by a home inspector.
Normal deterioration of a home that is poorly maintained will result in problems sooner or later.
The cost of a home inspection is negligible compared to the investment.
